This is education, not advice
The information here is written for the general reader and does not replace a personal medical consultation. It cannot tell you whether your lip was always thin or has thinned, whether treatment is appropriate for your health or your circumstances, or whether a treatment is suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
No route creates lip tissue that was never there
Every option on the ladder redistributes or repositions what exists. Hydration and border definition change how much lip appears, filler turns existing vermilion outward, a muscle relaxant lets the upper lip sit higher, and a surgical lift moves the upper lip upward. None of them adds lip where there was none, and anyone describing a route that does is describing something that cannot be promised.
The lip is unforgiving of placement
It moves with every word and expression, it has little padding beneath it, and the difference between a good result and a poor one is measured in millimetres. This is why treatment is staged rather than completed in one sitting, and why a long-lasting or permanent material in the lip removes the option of correction.
A lip change may not be cosmetic
A sore or crust that does not heal within a few weeks, a change confined to one side, numbness or altered sensation, sudden swelling that persists, or a lip that has changed shape or size over weeks rather than years is a medical finding. It is assessed by a doctor before anything cosmetic is considered.
